Microsoft power cord recall

(NBC NEWSCHANNEL) Microsoft is recalling power cords sold with Surface Pro computers.

The recall involves over 2-million A-C power cords in the U.S. sold separately with an accessory power supply, and with all models of Microsoft Surface Pro computers sold before March 15, 2015.

Microsoft has received 56 reports of the A-C cord overheating and emitting flames, and 5 reports of electrical shock to consumers.

The Consumer Product Safety Commission says consumers should stop using recalled power cords and contact Microsoft for a free replacement.
