A risk of mold exposure has prompted Michaels Arts and Crafts store to recall nearly half a million artificial poinsettias as well as more than a quarter of a million holiday paper boxes.

Mold can be present on the products, posing a risk of respiratory or other infections in consumers with compromised immune systems, damaged lungs or an allergy to mold.

The first recall involves Ashland Artificial Poinsettia Flowers sold in single stems and bushes. (425,000 sold in the U.S. and an additional 6,600 sold in Canada).

The second recall involves Ashland Holiday Paper Boxessold in nine different themes. (288,000 sold in the U.S. and an additional 1,170 sold in Canada).

Michaels stores nationwide sold the Ashland products last October and November.

Consumers should return the products to a Michaels store for a full refund.
