Comcast customers across the country experienced a disruption in service Monday.

A Comcast outage report website said thousands of people had problems.

A public relations manager in Jacksonville, Fla., confirmed the problems in a statement to WPTV:

“We’re continuing to investigate what appears to be a temporary network interruption that impacted some of our services this morning.  Our engineers have been working on this and services are starting to be restored.  We apologize for any inconvenience this has caused our customers.”

An outage map showed areas that were affected across Florida, including West Palm Beach, Miami and Jacksonville.

Other U.S. cities impacted included New York, Boston, Atlanta, Houston, Nashville, Philadelphia, Denver and Minneapolis.

The company said the problem was fixed in most places by early afternoon.

Comcast, based in Philadelphia, says the outage primarily affected TV service. Customers lost some of their channels but kept some service. Some customers weren't affected at all, the company said.

Comcast said it was unclear what caused the outage or how many subscribers were affected.
