‘Tis better to give and big campaign starts this week.
"Giving Tuesday" is a worldwide movement that brings millions of people together to give back to their communities.
Last year, more than $180 million were raised online in just 24 hours.

The Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services has put out several tips to consider before donating:
- Use the Check-A-Charity tool online. It allows you to view a charity’s financial information and it asks the charity why it is asking for donations and what it will do with the contributions.
- Verify charities by checking their validity. The Better Business Bureau does that, just follow this link.
- Keep good records of your donations. Printed copies of receipts will give you the chance to claim donations as a tax deduction come tax time.
If you are not able to give monetary donations, give of your time. Many organizations offer opportunities for people to volunteer.
