(NBC NEWSCHANNEL) There is a renewed warning to parents to anchor free-standing chests and dressers after a third child was crushed to death by a toppling IKEA unit.
It was last July following the deaths of two children that IKEA issued a warning to anchor furniture and announced a free repair program that involved sending out wall anchors for about 27 million chests and dressers.
IKEA says so far it has sent out 300,000 anchoring kits to consumers.
In the wake of this third death, Ikea plans to expand its repair program but hasn't elaborated on how it would raise awareness.
