In 2000 and 2004, the presidential elections came down to the votes of a single state. The winner of both was President George W. Bush.

Do you remember who ran against him in 2000? There were two contenders — Al Gore, and Ralph Nader. That's right, Nader ran for President.

The election's results hinged on Florida's votes.

In 2004, Bush ran against John Kerry, and the outcome wasn't immediately known that night. Kerry called Bush the next day to concede.

Ohio was the deciding state in that race.

Each presidential election is filled with months of incessant campaigning, and Americans grow quite familiar with the candidates. Interestingly, though, some easily forget the losing parties not long after the race.

Take this quiz and see if you remember who ran against the winners of past presidential elections.
