Being a teacher is no easy task. From the responsibility of teaching future generations, taking work home with them all the time and even sometimes having to buy school supplies with their own money, it’s safe to say teaching can be a pretty tough job.
As a way to say thank you for all that hard work, Chipotle is giving out buy one, get one free burritos for all teachers, faculty and staff — including home schoolers. All you have to do is go to your local Chipotle on National Teacher Appreciation Day, May 8, from 3 p.m. to close, show your valid teacher ID and you’ll get a free burrito, bowl, salad or order of tacos with the purchase of another.
Chipotle says they’re participating in National Teacher Appreciation Day simply because they love teachers.
“While you fill minds with knowledge, we’ll fill your stomachs with burritos,” the chain advertised on its website.
In honor of the much-deserved holiday, the National Education Association is asking for everyone to thank a teacher for their hard work and dedication. One way you can contribute is by taking a video or photo of yourself thanking them for making a difference in you or your child’s life.
Either post your photo or video to social media with the hashtag #ThankATeacher, or print this “Thank a Teacher” template, write why you’re thankful and then upload your file right here. The National Education Association will then share the messages throughout National Teacher Appreciation Week, which takes place May 7 to 11.
Even when it’s not National Teacher Appreciation Day, teachers can still get some pretty good deals year-round at places like The Container Store, Apple, Barnes & Noble and even FedEx.
