PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla. — Donalda McCarthy has just started the Keto diet and is trying to find food she is allowed to eat at The Gardens Mall's newest restaurant; Shake Shack.

"I've never heard of Shake Shack before so I'm excited to try something new." Donalda McCarthy

She found a few things on the menu that she is allowed to have on her diet.

As she spots the Lettuce Wrap option on the kiosk she enthusiastically says, "Okay, now we're talking! Ooooh, add Bacon."

McCarthy said she likes the options, "[Like] the Lettuce Wrap the options instead of French Fries," Said Donalda.

Danny Szymanski is the General Manager and he says what's sets them apart is their customer service.

"I think for me, it's definitely the genuine hospitality piece and, you know, our burgers the products that we use are the best products out there," Said Szymanski.

Shake Shack is known for its smashed patties.

"Yep, we use fresh patties, [and we] smash them on the grill, season them up, we scrape them over so it catches all that seasoning. We use Martin's Potato Rolls [and] Schreiber Farms American Cheese; which is the best American cheese out there," Said Szymanski.

There are four ways you can order, by walking up to the register, using a kiosk or mobile app and curbside pickup.

"It definitely eliminates all the contact, so if someone is concerned [about the coronavirus] it's also a great way to skip the line. [The Gardens Mall] does a wonderful job with curbside pickup spots. So you actually order off the [Shake Shack] app, give us a call, and we will run it out to you [so] you don't have to get out of your car."

As for Donalda, how did she feel about her first experience?

"They seemed to go out of their way, they explain things, and they checked in to make sure I was happy with what I got," Said McCarthy

Including something not on her meal plan, a crunchy fry.

Shake Shack says they hired 45 people, then they had to hire additional people because they are busier than they were expecting.
