Boat parades, Holiday lasers, Burgers and Brews on tap for this weekend

JUPITER, Fla. — As we enter into Chanukah Thursday evening and inch near Christmas there are plenty of festive events to entertain your loved ones for the holidays.

1) Barley & Hops - Eau Palm Beach Resort & Spa

'Brewmaster's Dinner' - Friday, Dec. 11
Held at Angle, the resort's modern American restaurant, will be a multi-course dinner prepared by Executive Sous Chef Matthew Gale. Matt Coxx from Copperpoint Brewing Company will pair a beer with each course.

‘5th Annual Craft Burgers & Brew’ - Saturday, Dec. 12 from 11 a.m. - 5 p.m.
This year’s event will look much different from years past as guests will be seated and will order the Burgers & Brew special from the menu three sliders paired with a flight of beer for $21 per person at Breeze Ocean Kitchen. Or for $35 per person guests will enjoy a Bottomless Pint + the sliders. All guests will be able to vote for their favorite burger and beer pairing. There will also be live entertainment.

Barley & Hops Brunch - Sunday, Dec. 13
The weekend will wrap up with a Barley & Hops Brunch at Breeze Ocean Kitchen featuring Mathews Brewing Co. Guests will enjoy a craft beer inspired a la crate brunch + live entertainment.

2) Winter Wonderland Laser Lights & Bites at the South Florida Science Center and Aquarium

Friday, Dec.11 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Sing and dance along to holiday favorites with plenty of room to social distance during the outdoor Laser Concert spectacular.
• Winter Wonderland Laser Shows on the Cox Amphitheater at 7 p.m. and 8 p.m.
• Explore outdoor exhibits on the 5-acre Fisher Family Science Trail
• Grab a bite from Gimme Grillin Food Truck
• Twilight Mini Golf on the Conservation Course
Guests are encouraged to bring picnic blankets to set up their own area on the amphitheater lawn.
Admission is $12 for adults | 10 for children | Kids under 3 are free.

3) Comedian Brian Callen at the Palm Beach Improv

Bryan Callen is an American actor, comedian, and podcaster. He is most known for his role as “Coach Mellor” on TV’s Schooled and The Goldbergs. Callen has also appeared in such TV and films as Kingdom, 2 Broke Girls, Ride Along, Hangover 1 & 2, Sex and the City, Old School, MADTv, Entourage, Californication, and many more.

Friday, Dec. 11 at 7:30 p.m. and 10:00 p.m.
Saturday, Dec. 12 at 7 p.m. and 9:30 p.m.

4) Boat Parades
Lake Clarke Shores
Saturday, Dec. 12 at 7 p.m.
20th annual Lake Clarke Christmas Boat Parade. Guests are encouraged to bring an unwrapped toy for the Little Smiles toy collection. The parade will start at the end of the lake that heads to Flannigans's and go north through the C-51 canal.

Royal Palm Beach Christmas Boat Parade
Saturday, Dec. 12 at 6:30 p.m.
The parade starts at Todd A. Robiner Park on La Mancha Avenue. The parade will pass by Earth Day Park at about 6:35 p.m. then the parade will travel under the Crestwood Bridge next to H.L. Johnson Elem around 6:45 p.m. At about 7:15 p.m. the parade will pass the Hidden Harbor Apartments, then the Okeechobee Bridge Around 7:15 p.m. The parade will end at Lake Challenger around 7:30 p.m. Organizers said the library is a great place to see the parade plus there is room for parking.

Wellington's Holiday Boat Parade
Saturday, Dec 12 at 6:30 p.m.
Come watch as local residents and boating enthusiasts “Light up the Lake” with a Holiday Boat Parade on Lake Wellington. The parade is visible from the Town Center Promenade behind the Wellington Community Center (12150 Forest Hill Boulevard), boats will launch from the Isles of Wellington at 6:20 p.m., and are expected to pass behind the Wellington Community Center around 6:30 p.m.

5) A Classic Christmas in Yesteryear Village at the South Florida Fair Grounds
Saturday, Dec. 12 from 10 a.m. - 8 p.m.
Organizers hope to bring out the holiday spirit the old-fashioned way. The Village’s historic buildings will be minimally decorated, indicative of the time period portrayed in Yesteryear Village.

Activities include:

  • Visits with farmer Santa and Mrs. Claus at the Cracker Cow Camp

11 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. and 1 p.m. - 2:30 p.m.

  • Classic Christmas carols
  • School chorus Wellington Collegiate Chorus
  • DJ Sound Channels playing Christmas Music under pavilion-volunteer-Guitarist at
