Andy Preston, has rocked the Palm Beaches and Treasure Coast since 1991. When I worked for iHeartRadio, in West Palm Beach, I would often pass Preston and ask, "how are you doing?" He would always respond, "Rocking my life away."
Andy started at 98.7 The "Gater" almost 28 years to the day. Every time I'd meet him, he would have an extremely long story about the who's who of the rock n' roll world that was worth the wait to hear the climax. A kind soul, who I can tell really cares about local musicians and culture. His career spanned the states from Hawaii to South Florida.
Yesterday, according to industry insiders, Preston was walked out of iHeartRadio in West Palm Beach along with Kool 105.5's Mike Perry, WiLD 95.5's Kelsi and Maverick. I reached out to Senior VP of Programming, Rad Messick who did not comment on the situation, along with Perry, and others including Elizabeth Hamma at Hubbard Radio (the competition).
Each of the radio personalities have been removed from the drop-downs on each of the station's websites.
