5 fun things to do in Palm Beach County and The Treasure Coast this weekend (April 28 - April 30)

1) Our Kids World Family Fun Fest - South Florida Fair Grounds

What is it?

An air-conditioned giant Expo Center filled will fun things for kids to do like science experiments, live shark and stingray encounters, a toddler zone, mermaid selfies, face painting, and more!

Why is it cool?

Kids can meet their favorite TV characters! Plus did I mention sharks? (Click video above to play).

2) Lego Takeover - Palm Beach Gardens

What is it?

A Lego exhibit inside The Gardens Mall featuring 50 life-sized Lego sculptures including; Wonder Woman, Batman, Captain America, Captain Phasma (Star Wars), Disney Princesses and more.

Why is it cool?

A mall full of selfie opportunities with giant Lego sculptures.  

PLUS an opportunity to help out "Bricks Busting Boredom" a charity Dan Clein of Wellington started when he was 18 years-old.  Nearly five years ago, Dan’s cousin was diagnosed with a rare type of bone cancer. For several months, he witnessed his young cousin go through painful cancer treatments, spending much of that time in hospital rooms. “We realized how little there is to do for children going through treatment. They can’t really be a kid or stimulate their creativity,” he said.

The experience prompted Dan to start up Bricks Busting Boredom, a nonprofit that collects new and used LEGO bricks to give to children in hospitals across South Florida. “When you watch a child step out of their hospital bed and see the LEGO sets, their eyes light up,” Dan said.

3) 1980's Themed Brunch - West Palm Beach

What is it?

A themed brunch party that gives foodies a chance to dress up as your favorite '80s music star like Madonna, Blondie, Michael Jackson, Duran Duran, Bon Jovi, Guns N’ Roses, The Cure, Tears for Fear… (the list is endless)

4) Pokémon: Symphonic Evolutions - West Palm Beach

What is it?

Pokémon: Symphonic Evolutions is the must-see video game concert giving fans a chance to experience the evolution of Pokémon.

Why is it cool?

You can come in costume if you wish, and meet up with friends to catch, battle and trade Pokémon from your favorite games. New orchestral arrangements and carefully timed visuals draw from recent and classic versions to create a boldly colored, larger-than-life experience.
