What do you do when your area of the country is known for having numerous elite brain research organizations?  Well, the South Florida Science Center is going to build the nation's most advanced exhibit on the most complex organism known on Earth, the human brain.

Opening in early 2019 the center will be renovating the current building to expand and make room for a $2.4 million 2,500-square-foot permanent exhibit consisting of four galleries.

Partnering together to create the exhibit called 'A Journey Through The Human Brain' are FAU's Brain Institute, Max Planck Institute for Neuroscience, Scripps Research Institute of Florida, Palm Healthcare Foundation and The Stiles-Nicholson Foundation (which donated $750,000 to the project).

Today, the Quantum Foundation, known for funding Palm Beach County School District medical academies, donated $900,000. The Science Center needs to raise $200,000 to complete the exhibit.
