'Christmas in South Florida' song perfectly describes the holidays in the Sunshine State

Posted

Christmas in South Florida - it's one of those things only someone from here can understand. It's usually 80 degrees outside, and you'd rather have a cold Coke than hot cocoa in your hand.

Sure, we make fun of our Northern friends with memes about how they're buried under snow while we're at the beach, but if you're like me, you secretly wish we had some real winter weather here around the holidays.

Singer-songwriter Mike Mineo recorded a song with friends while visiting Florida (he's originally from Boca Raton but now lives in Nashville, according to his Facebook page).

The song, Christmas in South Florida, perfectly captures what the holidays are like here with lyrics like:

Christmas in south Florida
The country's makin fun of us,
For wearin snow coats,
In 60 degrees
It's Christmas in south Florida
The summer's almost over
Till it comes back again
In two more weeks
