It’s strawberry season! But, instead of heading to a local patch to pick a pint, may we suggest simply heading to your newest grocery store and picking up a package of Hostess strawberry cheesecake Donettes.

Okay, fresh strawberries are definitely better for you, but sometimes you deserve to indulge. It’s all about balance, right?

We don’t know if this new flavor is going to be a limited-edition summer specialty or part of the regular Hostess family, so if you don’t scoop up these strawberry cheesecake Donettes now, you may miss out.

Hostess first teased us with the possibility of a new Donette flavor on social media, asking fans to guess what the new flavor might be:

Other suggestions Hostess tossed out there to confuse followers included caramel macchiato, banana pudding, blueberry cobbler, lemon blueberry and green tea matcha … all of which sound amazing, and now we’re bummed we only get one new flavor.

Fans felt the same, with many people popping onto Hostess’s social media to beg for the green tea matcha flavor (but personally I think lemon blueberry sounds like a shoo-in for a summer breakfast or poolside snack).

Grumbling aside, strawberry cheesecake is probably a heavenly choice for a Donette mashup, especially if they are as good as Little Debbie’s mini strawberry donuts (they’re strawberry donuts with strawberry icing).

Hostess Brands

With the Hostess version, the donut is strawberry-flavored while the icing on top is meant to taste like rich, tangy cheesecake. These mini pieces of heaven come in a 10.5-ounce bag, which Hostess probably intends for you to share … but let’s be real, I’m probably gonna gobble up the whole bag solo.

And, don’t forget to check out Hostess’ other new release: cream cheese coffee cakes!

“The delectably moist Cream Cheese Coffee Cakes are made with real cream cheese in the batter and topped with a delightfully buttery sugar-crumb streusel,” reads a Hostess press release about the new product.

Yum!
