Local girl receives custom carriage wheelchair

Posted

BOYNTON BEACH, Fla. -- Like most 4-year-old girls Bellamarie Natale dreams of being a princess. She likes glitter and wears little pink earrings and sparkly shoes.

"She's always been such a an awesome, awesome light to my life," explained Bella's mom Dominique Natale. "I'm so honored to have her. I just never had a best friend like that before."

To be a true princess Bella wants something a little more stylish than the kid carrier she uses right now to get around.

"She's a diva," Bella's dad William Natale said. "I mean I call her high maintenance and it's not just because of the all equipment and everything she has going on. She's always dressed for success."

Today Bella is a month away from a new wheelchair, a ride fit for a princess. A pink and purple carriage, with room for Bella's 2-year-old sister Tigerlilly.

"She's gonna be riding in a carriage and this carriage is amazing," William explained. "These guys over in Oregon I mean they're just working hard day and night to build her a beautiful carriage that she could just go to a ball in."

Bella's fairytale dream come true comes to life through Magic Wheelchair, a West Coast based non-profit known for creating and providing unforgettable wheelchairs for kids.

"They want to make her they want to make her this beautiful princess and they really did an outstanding work with their designs," said Dominique.

Bella's new carriage wheelchair debuts Saturday February 13 at the Barrier Free 5K in Boynton Beach.
