(CNN) - Oprah Winfrey is doing her part to help Puerto Rico recover from Hurricane Maria.
Winfrey announced Monday she is making a $2 million commitment to the island.

Half of that donation will go toward the Hispanic Federation's Unidos Disaster Relief and Recovery program to develop long-term needs for Puerto Rico.
The other half will go to the Flamboyan Arts Fund, which focuses on continuing Puerto Rico's arts and culture heritage.
The U.S. territory continues to recover after the island was devastated by Maria in September 2017.
