Lady Gaga is officially engaged to talent agent Christian Carino. They have been dating since January 2017 and have mostly kept their relationship out of the public eye.

During a speech at Elle’s 25th Annual Women in Hollywood Celebration in Los Angeles on Monday, Oct. 15, Lady Gaga confirmed the rumors (which have been swirling since November of last year) that the two are engaged. The multitalented entertainer gave a shout-out to all those who have supported her in her journey to success — including her fiancé.

“Thank you to all the loved ones in my life,” she said. “[Manager] Bobby [Campbell], I love you. Everyone at table five. My fiancé, Christian. All the loved ones in my life who take care of me every day. And Ryan Murphy, thanks for giving me my first leading role. You know that Golden Globe belongs to you.”

In August 2017, Gaga openly expressed her love for Carino during a performance at New York’s Citi Field.

“When I went backstage, Christian was by the stairs making sure I was okay,” she said at the time, according to Page Six. “The best part about being in love with someone is having them there to catch you if you fall.”

More engagement rumors also began to surface when Gaga began wearing a ring on her finger that appeared to include a pink diamond or a pink sapphire. Experts told the New York Post the ring could cost as much as $1 million, but the couple still stayed tight-lipped about any possibility of walking down the aisle.

Carino seems pretty smitten with Gaga, too. In August, he posted an Instagram photo of Gaga at the beach with the caption “believe in fairy tales.”

In addition to her subtle announcement, Gaga took the opportunity at the Elle event to address important issues, including sexism in the entertainment industry.

Watch more of her remarks from her speech, in which she explained her decision to wear an oversized suit to the event, in this clip posted to Instagram by Elle:

"I asked myself: What does it really mean to be a woman in Hollywood? We are not just objects to entertain the world. We are not simply images to bring smiles or grimaces to people’s faces. We are not members of a giant beauty pageant meant to be pit against one another for the pleasure of the public. We women in Hollywood, we are voices. We have deep thoughts and ideas and beliefs and values about the world and we have the power to speak and be heard and fight back when we are silenced." “In this suit, I felt like me today,” she said. “As a sexual assault survivor, by someone in the entertainment industry, as a woman who is still not brave enough to say his name, as a woman who was conditioned at a very young age, to listen to what men told me to do, I decided today I wanted to take the power back. Today I wear the pants.”
