Disney released the first trailer for its live-action "Aladdin" movie.

Director Guy Ritchie ("Snatch," "Sherlock Holmes") directs the film, which stars Will Smith as Genie, Mena Massoud ("Open Heart") as Aladdin and Naomi Scott ("Power Rangers") as Jasmine.

The movie is a remake of the 1992 Disney animated classic, which spawned direct-to-video sequels, as well as a Broadway musical.

The live-action adaptation follows the treatment Disney has given "Alice in Wonderland," "The Jungle Book," "Cinderella" and "Beauty in the Beast." A "Mulan" remake is also in the works.

The movie opens May 24.
