5 fun things to do this weekend

Boynton Beach 44th Annual Holiday Boat Parade - Friday, Dec 11, 2015 – 5:30 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. at the
Boynton Harbor Marina - 728 Casa Loma Boulevard - Boynton Beach, FL 33435

This flotilla of brightly-decorated boats will line up at the Lantana Bridge near Old Key Lime House and motor south along the Intracoastal Waterway to the George Bush Bridge in Delray.

The event starts with live music from Route Bleu setting the stage for the parade to start at 7:00 p.m. Other viewing areas are located at Intracoastal Park and along the parade route.

Please bring a new, unwrapped toy for Toys for Tots. If you are interested in entering your boat into the parade,

Pavo Real Gallery Art Show and Signing with Artists Carlos & Albert - Friday, December 11, 2015, 5 – 9 p.m. at the Pavo Real Gallery - Town Center at Boca Raton - 6000 Glades Road, Boca Raton, FL 33431
    
Hippopotamuses hang gliding, giraffes that read, zebras taking selfies – renowned artists, Carlos & Albert, are known internationally for their whimsical portrayals of the animal kingdom mimicking humans.

The two sculptors will introduce a limited edition sculpture exclusive to Pavo Real Gallery.  In addition to the artist’s appearances and sculpture signings, the event will benefit N.I.C.K.’s Camp (Nothing’s Impossible for Cancer Kinds) for children with cancer.

Opera at the Waterfront - Saturday, December 12 at 2 p.m. at the Meyer Amphitheatre, 105 Evernia St., West Palm Beach.

Something magical will happen in downtown West Palm Beach.

More than 100 musicians will come together to present an afternoon of live opera in a free concert at the Meyer Amphitheatre on the beautiful Intracoastal Waterway.

Bring a blanket and picnic basket and enjoy opera’s most recognizable arias and ensembles performed by the combined forces of international opera star Michael Chioldi, guest artist Bridgette Gan, and Palm Beach Opera’s Benenson Young Artists, Orchestra, and Chorus for an unforgettable afternoon of music.

This event is FREE. No tickets are required.

10th  Annual Art Fest & Craft Fair at PGA  - Saturday, December 12, 2015, 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. at the Masters Park. Just inside the Northlake entry to PGA National, Palm Beach Gardens.

The Barn Theatre and Ruby Lynn Productions have joined forces, once again, to bring you “CHRISTMAS IS...2015,” an outstanding Christmas show that will cheer and warm hearts, both young and old this holiday season. This season, we will be joined by the Treasure Coast Tappers. So kick start your Christmas season with those familiar voices you have come to know and love through the years; Angel Broennimann, Frank Lillo, Rob Lastovica, Chris and Jeanette Mazzella and the Celebration Quartet, to name just a few of the 20 plus cast members.

A portion of the proceeds will be donated to the Martin County Backpack Lunch Program and to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF).
