UPDATE: Following this morning's report about a bench warrant being issued for former PBSO employee Mark McDonald, WPTV was notified that McDonald has passed away. It appears the court was unaware at the time the warrant was issued.

As of this writing, the Palm Beach County Court had not updated its online records to reflect this development.

PALM BEACH COUNTY, Fla.-- A bench warrant has been issued for a former Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office employee facing charges of DUI and possession of cocaine.

According to court records, Mark McDonald was set to appear at a plea conference Tuesday morning, but did not show.

McDonald was arrested in July after crashing his truck into a gatehouse.

According to his arrest report, deputies found cocaine in McDonald's pocket. McDonald was a PBSO forensics manager at the time of his arrest, but retired one week later.

Months ago, Contact 5 found this wasn't the first time McDonald got a DUI while at the agency. McDonald was arrested on suspicion of DUI on November 17, 2013 in Port St. Lucie, after crashing his unmarked PBSO squad car into a tree at 3:29 a.m.
