A nationwide issue affecting Xfinity set top boxes is preventing some television subscribers from watching NBC-affiliate stations, including WPTV, Tuesday morning.
WPTV has received multiple complaints from viewers that they have been unable to watch NewsChannel 5 because of the issue.
WPTV wants to inform viewers to please contact Comcast if you are experiencing the issue, since this problem is occurring with the cable provider and is not a problem locally at NewsChannel 5.
Comcast representatives are aware of the problem and said they have multiple outages nationally.
They hope to have the problem corrected by 11:30 a.m. EST and reiterate he Xfinity set top boxes appear to be the major issue involved in the outage.
