With less than a week until Thanksgiving, the Treasure Coast Food Bank is hoping the public can help with the main course.

Right now, the warehouse on Angle Road in Fort Pierce is short of 700 turkeys to fill the requests of the other non-profits in the area that it partners with.

The food bank says demand this year is up, and it wants to make sure that everyone who wants a turkey on Thanksgiving can have one.

“The holidays are a time to gather around a Thanksgiving table and give thanks and reflect on the year and be thankful for what they have and we want to make sure everyone is able to do that,” said Judy Cruz, Treasure Coast Food Bank.

You can drop off a turkey any weekday between now and next Tuesday between 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. or you make a cash donation online at StopHunger.org.
