Casey Blaszka reads the words on a necklace urn she wears every day.

“No farewell words were spoken.  No time to say goodbye. For you were gone before we knew it, and only God knows why.”

The urn carries the ashes of her baby brother, Beau Hartman.

“It’s been very rough.  It’s been hell to say the least," said Blaszka.

Hartman was shot and killed February 16th.  Someone knocked on a door at a home on SE Darien Road in Port St. Lucie late at night. It was Hartman who went outside to see what was happening.

“Went out of the house that night with good intentions at just scaring someone off and his life was taken," said Blaszka.

After two months and no arrests, friends and family held signs outside the State Attorneys office Monday, hoping to get the case moving.

“We’re out here to bring attention to his name.  To bring attention to his cause and let everybody know that St. Lucie County should be safe from a murderer on the streets," said friend Brian Lester.

Chief Assistant State Attorney Tom Bakkedahl said he talked with the group Monday explaining to them that this is still an active criminal investigation and they are working very closely with the Port St. Lucie Police Department.

“We just don’t want it to get swept under the rug.  We want to get him justice and we want to get this killer off the streets," said Blaszka.

The family is offering a reward for information that leads to an arrest and conviction.
