A young woman says her faith in humanity has been restored, two years after she was shot in the face during a robbery.

After months of donations, Lyndsey Cooper received several checks in West Palm Beach Tuesday.

They totaled $8,700 and will help her pay for her many surgeries.

Cooper has had 13 surgeries so far, including operations to rebuild her gums, her trachea and her teeth.

"It's my life. It's fixing my life. Because without any of these donations I couldn't afford those surgeries,” she said.

Cooper says she will never forget that day she was shot and she will never be the same, but the outpouring of community support and the donations give her the strength to keep going.
