GILBERT, Ariz. (AP) -- Former NFL player Davone Bess has been arrested after a standoff with police at his suburban Phoenix home.
Gilbert police say Bess fled a traffic stop in Gilbert early Monday.
Police Sgt. Jesse Sanger says Bess barricaded himself in his car and then his home.
Sanger says a SWAT team entered after obtaining a warrant.
Bess is being held on one felony count each of endangerment, flight and failure to stop for a police officer.
Police did not say why he was initially stopped.
The 30-year-old was released as the Cleveland Browns wide receiver in 2014 after less than a year.
While in Cleveland, he was arrested for assaulting a law enforcement officer.
Bess also played for the Miami Dolphins from 2008 to 2012.
