TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — Governor Ron DeSantis’ Reopen Florida Task Force is examining the best way forward to restart Florida’s economy.

The task force has four meetings scheduled via conference call on Thursday. You can find more about the meetings here.

The task force is divided into several different areas of Florida’s economy.

The industry working group related to agriculture, finance, government, healthcare, management and professional services will meet at 10 a.m.

The committee focusing on administrative, education, information and technology, manufacturing, utilities and wholesale will hold its discussion at 11 a.m.

The group related to accommodation, food, tourism, construction, real estate, recreation, retail and transportation will meet at noon. Palm Beach County Mayor Dave Kerner is a member of this group.

The executive committee meeting with the governor will then happen at 3 p.m.

The governor has said restarting Florida’s economy in our area may look different than other parts of the state because so many cases are concentrated in Palm Beach, Broward and Miami-Dade Counties.

The audio for all meetings be streamed online here.

This comes as a new model from the Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation came out with a new report that suggests Florida and many other states should continue social distancing into June.
