Margo Albury and her family are visiting from the Bahamas.
The Alburys say they won't allow a mosquito-borne illness advisory change their sightseeing plans.
Friday they visited the Palm Beach Zoo.
She sprayed everyone's hands and legs with insect repellent before walking in. "We don't let it stop us; they come, but as long as you stay protected and spray some Off or something, it really helps," she said.
Zoo managers want to make sure guests don't worry about mosquitoes while they're visiting the outdoor animal habitat. So they asked Palm Beach County Mosquito Control to take a look at their efforts to keep mosquitoes away.
"What stood out is that it's really clean here. Very few breeding mosquitoes. They change the animal's water every day and they change some of the animals that have ponds, they flush out every week," said Chris Resigner with Palm Beach Mosquito Control.
"We always want to be at the forefront of being proactive. We want our guests to have peace of mind when they come here; we want our employees to have peace of mind since they are outside," said zoo spokesperson Naki Carter.
"Be protective, no concern at all. I'm not concerned at all as long as your child is protected that is important to me and myself," Margo Albury added.
Mosquito Control says it will put a mosquito trap at the zoo to help monitor mosquitoes there.
