Juvenile suspect arrested in deadly overnight shooting off Oleander Avenue in St. Lucie County

ST. LUCIE COUNTY, Fla. — A minor is in custody after a fatal shooting early Monday morning in St. Lucie County.

Deputies responded to the 3200 block of Oleander Avenue at about 12:45 a.m. and located a man who had been shot and killed.

In a 10 a.m. update, deputies said an underage suspect was in custody, and this is believed to be an isolated incident with no threat to the community.

A friend of the man who was killed told WPTV he was visiting his brother, and he was on the couch when he was shot.

Deputies have not confirmed the relationship between the victim and the shooter.

Less than a mile away from the homicide, investigators executed a search warrant at a home on Wagner Place in connection with the shooting.

WPTV was told that more details on the case would be released on Tuesday.

The names of the victim and suspect have not been released.
