South Shore Hospital, which has been abandoned for over a decade, came to the ground after an implosion Tuesday morning.
The event took place just about 10:15 in the 600 block of Alton Road.
Crews used a small number of explosives to take down the structure.
It took around 10 seconds for the building to collapse. Dust settled in the area for four to six minutes, and residents were advised to shut their doors and windows.
