UPDATE: Tri-Rail service was restored at noon throughout Miami.

EARLIER STORY:

A heads up for commuters planning on taking Tri-Rail to Miami on Friday morning.  You will want to take an alternate route.

An overturned tanker truck leaked hundreds of gallons of fuel and closed Interstate 95 southbound near Hallandale Beach Boulevard.  This is impacting Tri-Rail service in Miami-Dade County.

Tri-Rail spokeswoman Bonnie Arnold said service is closed from the Golden Glades station to the Miami International Airport because of the fuel spill.

Arnold said it could take six to eight hours to restore service.

Tri-Rail is running in Palm Beach and Broward counties.  However, if you need to get to Miami by Tri-Rail, commuters should seek an alternative method of transportation.
