A thief who tried to rob a man in a Lauderdale Lakes parking lot was foiled when the victim realized the robber's gun was a toy.
The attempted robbery happened back on March 18 in the 2700 block of Northwest 29th Terrace, Broward Sheriff's Office officials said.
The victim, who operates a mobile car washing business, was hard at work when he was approach by the suspect, who pointed a gun at him and demanded he hand over his property.
Authorities said the victim quickly realized the gun was a toy and refused to comply, and the robber took off in his BMW empty handed.
The BSO is looking for the suspect and is asking anyone with information to call Broward Crime Stoppers at 954-493-TIPS.
