ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. (AP) -- Authorities say two police officers and as many as six young people are recovering after their stolen car crashed into an undercover police pickup truck in St. Petersburg.
The crash occurred early Monday. St. Petersburg police say the officers -- one from the Tampa Police Department, the other from St. Petersburg -- are part of a multi-agency auto theft task force. But they weren't involved in pursuit of the stolen car.
In a news release, police said some of the young people were seriously injured.
Their names, ages and conditions weren't immediately available. No further details were released.
