2 dead after small plane crashes in Ft. Lauderdale

Two people died after their plane crashed into a therapy center for children with autism, according to the Fort Lauderdale Fire-Rescue Department.

The plane's two occupants were the only fatalities. There were eight adults and five children inside the center at the time of the crash but no one else was injured. The teachers were able to safely evacuate the children.

The crash happened Saturday afternoon at the 1000 block of Northwest 62nd Street officials said.

The Federal Aviation Administration will investigate the incident.
