Silver Alert issued for missing Florida woman

NEW SMYRNA BEACH, Fla. — A Silver Alert has been issued for a missing, endangered Florida woman.

Officials say 87-year-old Mary Hancock Wilson of New Smyrna Beach last spoke to her family on Monday at approximately 1 p.m. when she told them she was going to a relative's home in Leesburg to escape hurricane conditions.

Wilson is described as 5 feet 2 inches tall, weighing 155 pounds. She has light brown/ reddish hair and brown eyes. Her clothing description is unknown.

Wilson's vehicle, a silver 2016 Cadillac SRX with Florida tag HKLN20, was seen Monday at 1:35 p.m. heading west on SR 44 from Glencoe Rd. in New Smyrna Beach.

Anyone with information about Mary Hancock Wilson's whereabouts is asked to call 911 and report to a local law enforcement agency.
