Plane makes emergency landing on I-4 in Seminole County

A small plane registered in Boynton Beach made an emergency landing on I-4 in Seminole County Friday.

The pilot told air traffic control he was having mechanical issues and later told troopers he ran out of gas, according to the Florida Highway Patrol

The pilot must now find a tow truck to remove the plane.

Troopers told WESHthe pilot was trying to land on a golf course but chose the interstate when he realized he couldn't make it.

The section of the interstate that the plane landed on is newly paved and has not yet opened to traffic, according to WESH.
