(CNN) - The pilot of a small plane was killed Saturday in north Florida after crashing near a house.
Authorities in Lake City say the crash happened less than a half-mile from the cannon creek airport.
The plane went up in flames and then spread to the home.
There were no injuries reported from anyone on the ground, including the people who live in the home.
Officials with the National Transportation Safety Board are now helping with the investigation.
Authorities believe the pilot, who has not been identified, had just taken off and was heading to Texas when it crashed.
