KEY BISCAYNE, Fla. (AP) — Officials say they are searching for a missing boater near Key Biscayne.
Local media outlets report the Florida Fish and Wildlife Commission says the 31-year-old man disappeared Sunday after jumping into the water from a boat in Nixon Beach to help another boat that was caught on the rocks.
FWC spokesman Lorenzo Veloz says a group of 16 people had gone out that day on two rental boats when one of the boats got stuck.
That's when two men jumped into the water to help dislodge the other boat, only to find themselves in distress. Officials say one of men was rescued. The other man remained missing as of late Sunday.
