BROWARD COUNTY, Fla. -- A Florida driver experienced a close call Friday in Broward County after a boat oar broke through her windshield.

The Florida Highway Patrol said the driver, Christina Kay Theisen, 33, of Port Charlotte, Fla., was passing a motor home when the aluminum oar either fell from the vehicle or was kicked up by its tires.

The oar skipped up and impaled the driver's side windshield.

Theisen ducked out of the way just in time and was not hurt.  She was able to safely stop her Chevy Suburban without further incident.

FHP said no additional information is known regarding the motor home.
