NORTH MIAMI BEACH, Fla. — Agriculture Commissioner Nikki Fried held a roundtable discussion on agriculture and chronic hunger Thursday morning in South Florida.

Fried, Miami-Dade County Commissioner Daniella Levine Cava and Florida International University President Mark Rosenberg met on FIU's Biscayne Bay campus in North Miami Beach.

The Fort Lauderdale Democrat recently announced a new initiative to reduce the spread of COVID-19 in Florida.

Fried has been an outspoken critic of Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis throughout the coronavirus pandemic, and she hinted in August that she is eyeing the governor's mansion in 2022.
