A man was killed after being hit by a Tri-Rail train as it came into the Pompano Beach station Friday morning.
Tri-Rail officials say the victim was struck by the train around 8:30 a.m. off Northwest 8th Avenue just south of Sample Road.
None of the 250 people on board the train were hurt, but the man was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police are calling it an accident, saying the victim was running after the train and grabbed onto a railing when he lost grip and fell under the train. Tri-Rail worked to resume service for the passengers who were stranded.
