PENSACOLA, Fla. (AP) - Authorities say a Florida man has been arrested following accusations that he threw a pit bull off a bridge.
The Pensacola News Journal reports 39-year-old Stephen Howard was charged Tuesday with two counts of animal cruelty.
The Escambia County Sheriff’s Office says a witness called to report seeing a man throw a dog over the side of a bridge near Pensacola.
Deputies say they didn't see Howard throwing the dog, but found the animal wet and shaking below and suffering from large cuts. Howard was being held on $6,000 bail.
Jail records didn't list any attorney for him who could comment.
