FBI arrests suspected 'Ball Cap Bandit' for robberies across South Florida

The FBI has arrested a man dubbed the 'Ball Cap Bandit' for a series of bank robberies across South Florida.

Federal agents said Rodrick Domonique Jones, 37, of Lake Park committed bank robberies at the following times and locations:

  • April 14, 2016: Chase Bank, 525 NE 7th Street, Delray Beach
  • May 19, 2016: Chase Bank, 5955 SE Federal Highway, Stuart
  • June 22, 2017: Chase Bank, 525 NE 7th Street, Delray Beach
  • February 17, 2018: Chase Bank, 5955 SE Federal Highway, Stuart

The FBI said Jones was arrested on Jan. 31 in Lake Park.

Federal agents called him the 'Ball Cap Bandit' because they said he wore baseball caps during the crimes.

The Delray Beach Police Department, Martin County Sheriff’s Office, and Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office all assisted with the investigation.
