Four Miami Police mounted patrol horses were shocked by exposed live wires during training at a high school Monday, officials said.
The horses were at Booker T. Washington High School on Northwest 6th Avenue near 11th Street when the incident happened.
Miami Police said the horses are doing well and are expected to fully recover. The officers riding the horses were taken to a nearby hospital for evaluation.
Miami-Dade County Public Schools officials said a crew from Florida Power and Light responded to try to determine what happened.
