Dog found with mouth taped shut in Lehigh Acres

LEE COUNTY, Fla. -- Investigators in Southwest Florida want to know who is responsible for taping shut a dog's mouth in Lehigh Acres.

Lee County Domestic Animal Services was called to the area of the 3200 block of 42nd Street SW on Tuesday after a neighbor saw a Florida Cur roaming the area with red electrical tape around its mouth.

According to the Lee County Sheriff's Office, the dog was panting, drooling and reportedly suffocating. The dog was dehydrated, appeared malnourished and was bleeding from wounds on his left arm and chest.

They are seeking community assistance in an attempt to identify the dog and the dog’s owner.

The dog has been seen by a veterinarian and is resting comfortably at Lee County Domestic Animal Services.
