Lockdown lifted at Blanche Ely in Pompano

Police responded to a report of a man on the campus of a Broward County school Thursday afternoon with unconfirmed reports of him having a possible weapon.

Chopper 6 was over the scene at Blanche Ely High School in Pompano Beach, where Broward Sheriff’s Office officials say deputies got a call of a man trespassing on school grounds.

it turned out to be a misunderstanding.

They later located the alleged trespasser who turned out to be a student.

BSO said that no weapon was found.

The lockdown was later lifted, according to BSO.

Two people were seen being questioned in the school parking lot but it was for an unrelated reason, the sheriff's office said.
