ORLANDO, Fla.-- A large alligator trapped a Central Florida woman in her home for several hours Thursday afternoon.
The Orlando woman said she was trying to leave her home, but a large alligator was camped out against her garage door.
A trapper hired by the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission arrived to attempt to capture the gator, which was about 8 or 9 feet long.
Wildlife officials said the animal was extremely aggressive.
A trapper was able to haul the gator away, which was eventually shot and killed.
The trapper said the gator likely came from a retention pond across the street.
The homeowner, Victoria McCalister, said this was not the first time a gator had shown up in her yard, but she said this one was certainly the biggest.
