Miami Gardens Police is investigating the death of a young woman who was shot at a house party Saturday night.
The shooting happened during a house party located at 40 NE 212th Terrace in Miami Gardens around 8:46 p.m. Saturday.
According to police, upon their arrival, officers discovered 23-year-old Alexandra Dean suffering from a gunshot wound.
Dean was transported by fire rescue crews to Aventura Hospital where she died.
Investigators revealed that a large group had gathered outside the home when a disturbance erupted. Gunshots were fired and Dean was struck. The house party had been organized and advertised.
According to Dean's Facebook, she recently graduated from Nova Southeastern University with a Bachelors of Science in Nursing.
