KISSIMMEE, Fla. (AP) — Two students have been charged with making written threats to kill students at their middle school as Florida cracks down with an "It's No Joke" campaign.

Osceola County Sheriff's Maj. Jacob Ruiz said Wednesday that the arrests came after other students told deputies they'd been told they were on a "safe" list.

The Orlando Sentinel reports the students also had a list of students they planned to stab.

Ruiz says the students admitted to creating the lists, but said it was a joke.

The Florida Department of Juvenile Justice launched an "It's No Joke" awareness campaign Tuesday as more and more students get charged with school threat offenses.
