A driver was killed and his passenger was injured Monday morning after a vehicle crashed into a Publix grocery store in Broward County.
Hollywood police said David Paul-Lamour, 24, was driving a Cadillac headed westbound on Hollywood Boulevard just before 3 a.m.
It appears that the man somehow lost control in the traffic circle and crashed into the back of the Publix grocery store, located at 1735 East Young Circle.
The store was empty at the time, but employees at nearby businesses told NBC 6 that the entire building shook due to the impact of the crash.
Police said Paul-Lamour was not wearing a seat belt, thrown from the car and pronounced dead at the scene.
The man's girlfriend, Roxana Villa, 20, who was in the car with him was also injured. She was taken to Memorial Regional Hospital in critical condition.
Traffic was shut down on Hollywood Boulevard westbound as police and fire rescue crews responded to the scene.
Hollywood police are investigating the cause.
