Teens injured in Port St. Lucie hit & run incident, police say

Two teenagers were hurt when a vehicle struck them Sunday night and left the scene, according to Port St. Lucie police.

The incident happened around 7:15 in the 2400 block of SW Chestnut Lane, police said.

One of the victims, a 16-year-old female, was hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries to her head and the other victim, a 14-year-old boy, was hospitalized with minor injuries to his leg, according to police.

Investigators say they are looking for and older model red Ford Escape SUV, with possible damage to the passenger side front end and headlight. They say the victims were standing near a parked car when the SUV struck them as well as the automobile.
